Actually it is Rogers Arkansas for Wal-Mart’s Sustainability Expo and Conference in April. Most of the exhibitors are materials suppliers, not packaging machinery manufacturers. But we think we have a sustainable story to tell and we hope to tell it to some of Wal-Mart’s vendors who are in attendance.
Our story goes something like this.
- Overwrapping uses less film than shrink wrap by 20% and less film than flow wrap by about 14%.
- No heat tunnel means lower energy costs.
- Overwrap is great for bundling since it keeps things together and easy to put in a case pack.
- You can use a smaller case pack with overwrap rather than flow wrap, and get some savings on corrugate as well as shipping.
- It uses less energy than shrink wrap because there is no heat tunnel. You can use custom printed wrapping material.
- With our machines you can use a lower gauge film than other overwrappers can accept and still get a great wrap.
- You can change your mind and wrap with paper or home compostable film and not have to buy another machine.
- Because we use servos, we have 65% fewer moving parts than mechanical machines and that much less in wear parts for lower maintenance costs.
We hope that if you too are going to Bentonville in April, you will come see us at the Conference April 6-7, 2010.
