The other day we got a phone call from someone with a really challenging wrapping problem. We asked him some questions and he responded a description and some pictures of his products, so we could understand better his wrapping issue.

We thought about it and discussed it with manufacturing and engineering. Finally we called him back and we said, “We can do it, but we think you should go somewhere else because it will be better for you.”

He was surprised. We explained that we thought our solution was not optimal.  It would be bulky, use more film than he needed to use and probably not efficient from a labor and other materials standpoint. We explained that while we don’t ordinarily recommend other wrapping methods, in his case it would be better.

We were sorry to lose the chance to work on an interesting project but more importantly we wanted his business success. We are experts on wrapping and sometimes that means knowing our limitations. And we got a thank you for our thought and efforts.
